Explore the lengths of Clearwater and Azure lake, gazing at snow-capped peaks and waterfalls while waiting for a bite. Paddle the remote bays of Murtle lake for trophy size rainbows tipping the scales between 7 and 11 pounds. Stand on the shores of the Clearwater River practising catch-and-release, taking in only solitude and serenity. Head out on your own or hire a local outfitter to show you the best spots to cast a line.

Wanting to learn more about trout in the area? Head over to the Clearwater Trout Hatchery in the town of Clearwater, close to Dutch Lake. This hatchery stocks approximately 330 lakes in the area. Over 3 million fish are released each year including several strains of rainbow trout, brook trout and kokanee. It’s the only hatchery that stocks kokanee salmon in British Columbia. You can visit the hatchery for free, year-round and rent a rod at no cost to try your luck on Dutch Lake where you can find both trout and Kokanee.
